Law and Society, Minor

The Law and Society minor involves students in the multi-disciplinary study of law and society, focusing on the interaction of law and legal institutions with philosophy, political science, and economics.

Students will examine the philosophical, political, and economic foundations and implications of law in addition to the social forces influencing law and society. The Law and Society minor is designed to help students gain an understanding of the role of law in society, approaching questions from a multi-disciplinary perspective.

Students whose overall GPA is below a 3.0 GPA upon graduation will not receive credit for the minor, i.e., will not have completion of the minor acknowledged on their transcript. 

These courses may not be taken pass/fail.

Since the content of POLS-450 varies, the student's minor advisor must approve any specific offering of the course for it to count as an elective. 

Students intending to enroll in PHIL-328 must notify Dr. Gillham of their intent to enroll at least one semester in advance, ideally before their registration window opens.
